Villa Melodia was built in the first half of 19th century. It is a unique property of his kind, as it was the summer residence and it was not a masseria like all the other ones in Puglia. The villa is 2 kilometers away from the main road (named SS.98) connecting Corato with Andria. The property is ideal for a business project like an agritourism, a restaurant or a banqueting venue.
History: Built in 1840, this aristocratic villa is situated in Contrada Lama d'Oro and belonged to the Barons Melodia di Altamura. The villa is 600 square meters large, on two levels, with cellars in great condition. The ground floor still features the original tiles of the old days, decently preserved. The main structure of the villa (walls) are intact and wonderfully designed. The terraced front garden is 5000 square meters large, beautifully layered with stepping stones and paths marked by oak trees, pine trees and palm trees, all hundreds years old. Next to the main body of the villa there is the servants residence, featuring also the frantoio (stone crushing machine for extra virgin olive oil), the winery, the stables and the milkery. These areas are almost completely paved in stone and still include an old frantoio and an old iron press. In the milkery there is an old fireplace 3mt by 3mt wide. All these areas are on a surface of about 700 square meters. Five hectares of land, with olive trees and fruti trees, are comprised in the villa. Three tanks for rain water collection are also there, still fully functional. The property is 4 kilometers from Corato, 6 kilometers from Andria, 10 kilometers from Trani and 15 kilometers from Castel del Monte.
